Illinois Conservatives announce 4th endorsement Don Manzullo for IL 16th Congressional District

Oregon, IL – The Illinois Conservatives announced their fourth endorsement for the 2012 elections today, Don Manzullo for the 16th Congressional District.
Manzullo, who is currently serving his 10th term in the House of Representatives, is facing a primary challenge from house freshman Adam Kinzinger, whose residence was moved from the 11th Congressional District to the new 2nd Congressional District in redistricting. Instead of Kinzinger running in his new home district the 2nd, he has decided to run in the 16th district. The Illinois Conservatives feel that Manzullo is a stronger conservative voice to send to Washington D.C.
“Congressman Manzullo represents what the Illinois Conservatives are all about,” Illinois Conservatives President Zach Oltmanns said. “Unlike his competitor, Manzullo has voted to end the bailouts to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He has also voted to stop the implementation of new job killing global warming regulations put forth by President Obama. Congressman Manzullo also became the first member of the Illinois GOP Congressional team to send Speaker Boehner a formal letter stating his opposition to increasing the nation’s debt ceiling.”
In addition to his conservative appeal, the Illinois Conservatives also appreciate Manzullo’s dedication to his district.
“Not only has Congressman Manzullo constantly voted to further the conservative cause, he is also always available to his constituents,” Oltmanns said. “He should stand as a role model for up and coming conservatives in the state of Illinois.
Receiving this endorsement will provide Manzullo with support from the Illinois Conservative members. This support includes grassroots assistance, outreach to younger votes, and additional volunteers to augment his campaign, something that should prove valuable as we approach Election Day.
The Illinois Conservatives, a leading conservative grassroots organization in Illinois with over 4,000 members statewide, believe in conservative ideologies and supports political candidates who share in those beliefs for the betterment of the State of Illinois.
